Eligibility

“Secondary” Level Competition (High School)

For the Secondary Level (High School), students must be attending school full-time and must be less than 22 years of age to participate.  Students participating do not need to be enrolled in specific classes or curriculum to compete in desired contests. (Ex: Students may compete in Carpentry competitions regardless of them presently taking a Carpentry class) However, students are not able to independently register to compete and a school official must contact the provincial office of Skills Canada NB to submit a confirmation for the school to be represented in any contest area.  


“Post-secondary/apprentice” Level Competition

  • Must be attending a private training institution , NBCC-CCNB, University or, must be enrolled in the provincial apprenticeship program.
     AND 

  • Competitors must not be a certified journey person in the contest area in which they wish to compete.

Students are not able to independently register to compete and a school/training institution official must contact the provincial office of Skills Canada NB to submit a confirmation for the school/training institution to be represented in any contest area.   


Citizenship of the Competitor Only Canadian citizens and permanent resident have the right to compete in the Canadian Skills Competition. Provinces or Territories registering participants are responsible for verifying this information.
